Black Wildebeest
or White Tail Gnu, is an open plains species, it avoids any cover even short bushes, so it has a total view of its surrounds for safety.
Live in good size herds from 15 - 35 animals in a herd. Big bulls mostly are alone.
They like to run in circles in a line and the lead back tracks on the line so you see animals running in opposite directions on the same line/area, this creates confusion for predators and hunters and is a very effective tactic for their safety.
Cows or females weigh 300 pounds and Bulls 450 pounds
Shots are mostly 200-300 yds.
Eat Grass mostly and need water most days, but can survive days without water.
This is a tough animal to bring down, so needs good shot placement.


Blue Wildebeest
or Brindled Gnu, is a bush and open plains species, and is often with Zebra.
Live in good size herds from 15 - 35 animals in a herd.
Big bulls mostly are alone.
Cows or females weigh 450 pounds and Bulls 600 pounds
Shots are mostly 100-200 yds.
Eat Grass mostly and need water every day.
This is a tough animal to bring down, so needs good shot placement.
